About

Pippin Tree Arts is located in northeastern Vermont, in the village of Island Pond. Owner Mary Ellen Hannington works out of a studio in her home and in the glass studio at The Foundry Workshop in Lyndon Center, Vermont. She has been working with stained glass since 2000. She studied under Tim Gustafson-Byrne of New England Art Glass.

She works in the copper foil method, which was originated in the 19th century by Louis Comfort Tiffany. Her works range from small pieces to window-sized panels. The use of glass overlaying glass, and painted and fused glass gives a wide range of colors and textures to her work and imparts a three-dimensional quality to what is, in actuality, two-dimensional art.

All of Mary's works are from her original designs, and encompass styles from geometric and abstract to floral and landscape.

Commissions:

Mary works with customers to design windows, panels, lamps, and decorations to fit their settings. Although she prefers using her own designs, if a customer has a design in mind Mary will work with it to create the desired piece. * All original designs are protected by US Copyright laws. If a customer wishes to use an existing design, permission must be secured, and any costs entailed borne by the customer. *

Rates:

Costs for custom-designed stained glass pieces may vary depending on the complexity of a given design and the price of materials used. Please contact Mary for an estimate. pippintreearts@gmail.com

Recycled and Salvaged Glass:

Many pieces incorporate glass from other projects or salvaged from architectural restorations. Accordingly, exactly matching color or texture from one piece to another is not always possible.
